Tree of life

According to a Kilimanjaro myth, the Almighty from above pulled the Baobab out of heaven and replanted it on earth upside down because it was too proud. And indeed, the tree does appear to be "upside down" with its large, swollen trunk topped by gnarled branches that resemble enormous roots. The Baobab is an emblematic tree of sub-Saharan Africa and, like the Shea, is known as the Tree of Life. It is exceptional for its enormous size, incredible lifespan—about 2,000 years—and ability to soothe skin, help heal wounds and protect skin from free radicals.

Beauty benefits

In cosmetics, Baobab leaves—which are rich in anti-free radical flavonoids—produce an extract that helps protect skin from the harmful effects of UV rays. The organic oil extracted from Baobab seeds helps strengthen and smooth the nail structure.
