The power of plants
Petasites is an herbaceous plant that grows in humid soil across Europe and Asia. Its supple, flexible, resistant leaves—and their impressive size (up to 1m in length and 60cm wide,) make the plant agile. They also protect the plant, acting like a vegetal hat. Upon closer inspection, Clarins Research found that the leaf’s nerve network creates a dense, mesh-like structure much like that found in the skin. Inspired by this discovery, petasites is grown at Domaine Clarins—our open air laboratory and farm in the French Alps—following a Good Practices Charter regarding wild harvesting, which respects nature and the plant.
